The Jeanne Oosting Prizes 2025 are awarded to visual artists Carla Klein and Ayşen Kaptanoğlu.

The jury, consisting of fellow artists Koen Vermeule, Esther Tielemans, and Dieuwke Spaans, selected both artists among other reasons for the innovation and virtuosity of their painting, the engagement with current social issues in their work, and its visual power.

The Jeanne Oosting Prizes serve as an incentive for artists who incorporate figuration in their practice. The winners each receive a cash prize of €7,500 and a bronze medal.

Aysen Kaptanoglu (born 1985, Turkey) receives the Jeanne Oosting Prize for her work on paper. The jury appreciates the way she seeks a balance between weighty content and aesthetics in her work.

According to the jury, her visual signature reveals a unique visual language, a confrontational impressionism. "The aesthetic draws you in, and once you're there, you're left bewildered."
